Yes, this is AI. It also took effort, patience, experience, creativity, and lots of trial and error. I’ve had creatures like these in my head for a long time. I’ve painstakingly modeled and animated them from scratch, never able to fully capture my vision. I played with prompts to make pictures of them for years, since the Midjourney days. And today I was able to finally bring them to life. It took hundreds of iterations, failed prompts, deformed creatures that might give me nightmares.. but I think I ended up with something pretty cool, and I can’t help but be excited it exists. But I’m conflicted. A big part of me hates AI. I understand that this video only exists because of the hard work of all the animators before me. I understand how long it would take to do something like this in real 3D, and I wish I had the time and talent to do it the right way, it would come out much better than this. Regardless, I want to share them. If you hate everything about it I totally understand, but it’s happening and I think we need to be having these conversations.
