Idghām al-Mutajānisayn is when two letters with the same articulation point (makhraj) but different characteristics are merged together. In “irkab maʿanā”, the bāʼ (ب) and mīm (م) both come from the lips, so when the bāʼ sākinah meets the mīm, the bāʼ is merged into the mīm smoothly.
